4P Power Awards Winning the Bharti

The objective was to recognise people and companies that transformed products into huge brands. And Wednesday's 4Ps Power Awards by Planman Media successfully established just that. "The industry honours advertising, but here the idea was to reward the marketers as well," said Arindam Chaudhuri, chairman and editor-in-chief, Planman Media. Addressing the august gathering of corporate leaders, marketing and advertising gurus, Chaudhari said, "In this slowdown, advertisers and marketers are going to have a brilliant time creating something of importance. Customers cannot be treated as dustbins forever, and this will be an important lesson for marketers to learn," he said.
Planman Media CEO Abhimanyu Ghosh emphasised that the awards are a platform to felicitate leaders create a product into a brand. "These awards recognise those professionals who have always by their constant innovations made an effort to make a brand a part of ones life," Ghosh said. Of the 23 award categories, Bharti Group's Airtel won three, viz the most trusted brand, most influential brand and best strategy award. Mercedes won the most aspirational brand award, while the 'God of Marketing' award went to Vijay Mallya's UB Group.
Other prominent winners included Rock On for the best marketed movie of the year award, and Tata Sky, which won the best celebrity endorsement awards for the Aamir Khan commercial. Reliance Industries won the most admired company award while the best launch awards went to the general entertainment channel Colors. Kingfisher was awarded as the most recalled brand while LIC won the most valuable consumer company award. Tata Tea's Jaago Re campaign bagged the best public service campaign and O&M walked away with best creative agency of the year award. Tata Sky was declared the most innovative company.
