Fiacco job opportunities - National audience

Regina's mayor had a chance to chat about hockey, while selling Saskatchewan's labour needs to a national audience on Tuesday.
Pat Fiacco was one of the panellists on TSN's "Off the Record."
"Saskjobs.ca, thousands of jobs posted, we want you to come have a look," Fiacco said when given a chance to plug the Saskatchewan recruiting mission to Toronto. "Saskatchewan right now is booming, and we need people to fill those jobs." "So you actually have jobs available," asked host Michael Landsberg, who was given an "I Love Regina" shirt by Fiacco. The mayor was introduced with a clip of his appearance as a miniature golf course owner on "Corner Gas," and Landsberg poked fun at Fiacco's resemblance to another TSN personality. "Unfortunately, [Fiacco] could not join us. Rod Black, we welcome to the show," Landsberg joked. It's one example of the kind of national media attention Saskatchewan's political leaders and employers are hoping for while they take part in the National Jobs Fair. Another example is a story that aired on Tuesday's "CTV National News." "Back with the economy now, and a turn to the 'good news' part of the story," is how the piece was introduced by CTV anchor Lloyd Robertson. It profiled a former southern Ontario resident who has moved to Regina.
