A Change Will Do You Good

As the last rays of summer warmth ebb away and the gentle breezes of autumn waft themselves upon us, we are ready again, that change is inevitable. Nature is constantly changing, and yet so many people have the perception that change is frightening.

People are creatures of habit, and some find it hard to adapt to changes that are intended to come our way. Life is like an old comfortable pair of shoes. We must realize that we need new, and we can even find new, we really like, but we know that a change would cause us discomfort for a little while until we break them in.

Sometimes we have to realize that life is not always easy. What could be better for us is not what we're used to, but it is certainly worth the effort to break into new habits and lifestyle changes.

Change need not be painful. Just look at nature, and it will give you hints on how change can be effortless. The beautifully colored autumn leaves do not hang on the old tree for dear life. No, they give to the changes with ease and float gently down into the tree.

With the coming of autumn, we have been busy in our gardens to pull up old things and getting ready for a period of rest. We know that the earth shall rest, and next year there will be more wonderful things in our garden to welcome us.

Are there things in your life to be gently eased out of your life? Maybe there are bad connections or habits or thoughts to be weeded out of your life. Do not be afraid to do a little gardening in your own life.

Every gardener knows that if we get to the roots, we really can not get rid of the problem. It can go away for awhile, but if we get to the root, it will sneak back into the garden very quickly.

Although harvest time is here, there is no time to stop weeding the garden in our minds. That need constant attention so that we can flourish and be everything we can. The only way to keep the garden in top condition is to ensure that no weeds are trying to stifle any good we are trying to do. Weeds in our minds, of course, are negative thoughts that likes to creep in and keep us from achieving what we seek.

William James said, "Man, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.

How do we change the inner attitudes of our minds? By changing the way we think. We must put fear and negativity behind us. How, you ask? Like leaves of autumn gently stroke from the tree, do not try to make a change in your mindset during the night, and expect to get immediate results. We can not rip these thoughts out of our minds, as much as we'd like at times. No, we must be gentle on ourselves and let positive thoughts instead of negative.

Yes it will take some work on your part. You have to constantly fill your mind with positive thoughts. Proverbs 27: 3 says, As a man thinketh in his heart, he said. We are what we think. When negative thoughts come into your mind, you must be willing to replace them with positive thoughts. Just say to yourself, no, I will not let that thought take over my mind, I will think positively. Confirmations are good to have readily available, so you can replace negative thoughts with positive. It will not be easy, it would not be hard either, it will just be different and new pair of shoes, we talked about earlier.

Autumn leaves fall to make room for new life. We must also go through changes that will bring new growth for our body, soul and spirit.

Change is inevitable, so why fight it? Why be afraid of it? Yes, change is forcing us to make a little adjustment, but it is always worth it. Do not be afraid of change, a change you can.
