Various hues of Holi

With Holi just a day away, the celebrations are at its peak. Painted faces of school-goers, Holi SMSes flicking on the mobiles and the office-goers getting into the festive spirit, the feel of the 'orgy celebrations' are vivid among the Kanpurites. Promising loads of entertainment, the city folks are all set to make a splash in the riot of colours coupled with guffaws and giggles with a pinch of 'cherkhani' this Holi. TOI brings to you the expression of colourful extravaganza. Divine Holi: Engrossed in the devotion of lord 'Krishna', the devotees celebrate a divine Holi with their deity, quite similar to the one played in 'Vrindavan'. "The devotion and gaiety marking the festival through a shower of flowers gives the feel of the presence of 'Kanha' himself celebrating the festival with you," says 54-year-old Parwati Shukla who celebrates Holi with his 'Banke-Bihari' in the Sanatan Dharma tem le every year. With a divine-cum-festive environment paramounting, the devotional Holi bhajans create the 'rus' (flavour) of 'Vrindavan's' famous Holi.
