AHA CEO National Bill Healey

National AHA chief executive Bill Healey said that the campaign was another "important step" in driving a culture change needed in the consumption habits of Australia. Enough Australia on Monday launched its new campaign that aims to help parents to reverse the trend of teenagers start drinking at a younger age. "There has been much research, debate and discussion on the drinking culture of Australia and conflicting views about the nature, extent and cause of the problem and how best to overcome them", M . Healey said in a statement. "However, one constant has been the recognition that the more a person begins to drink young, the more chance they have of being exposed to danger." Research shows over the last 50 years the average age of the nation initiation to alcohol had been reduced from 19 to 15.5 years. Mr. Healey said that "too many people - including youth - are drinking to get drunk and this must change." The AHA also says that there was no "silver bullet" to reduce the inappropriate consumption of alcohol and anti-social behavior and community concerns is the question.
