Leading And Motivating Employees

When you start working in a company the first thing you will see is how managers treat their employees to make them more productive. If managers do not attempt to help their employees to succeed in their jobs, employees will begin to feel lazy and can not put any effort to the work they are completing. To keep good employees in a company leaders should know how to lead and motivate them in the way work is done on time and with better quality.

Leadership is a process to motivate others to work to achieve specific goals. Leading is also one of the most important aspects of a leader's job. If the manager does not know how to lead his team, he or she does not succeed to motivate them.

Motivation is the set of forces that cause people to behave in certain ways. Since motivation influences productivity, managers must understand what motivates employees to achieve better results in their jobs. It is not easy to increase employee motivation because employees respond in different ways to their jobs and the organization's practices. The leaders' goal is to influence the factors that motivate their employees to a higher level of productivity. Factors affecting work motivation include individual differences, job characteristics and organizational practices. Individual differences are the personal needs, values, attitudes, interests and abilities that people bring to their jobs. Organizational practices are the rules, human resources policies, managerial practices and reward systems in an organization. Supervisors must consider how these factors interact and affect employees' job performance. For example, when employees get things like salary, benefits and promotion opportunities that they have a high morale at their workplace and the supervisor they seem motivated because they feel that their needs are met by their jobs. One of the things that leaders can do to motivate their employees when they are absent many times is to tell them that if they have perfect attendance they get a bonus. This will encourage them to show up every day and will benefit not only the company but also the employees.

Most of the people who have a job, they want to be recognized for all the jobs well done that they do know that they are important for the company and their leaders. As a result of the many methods of employee motivation have been developed. The study of work motivation has focused on the supervisor and the employees. Motivation theories are important to regulators as they try to be good leaders. For example, two-factor theory of Frederick Herzberg argues that job satisfaction depends on two types of factors hygiene, such as working conditions and motivation, such as recognition for a job well done. For example, workers will be dissatisfied if they believe that they have poor working conditions, especially if they have a place where they can move freely to perform their job or a place to eat their food during their brakes. Work must be at least free from any risk that may harm the employee or affect the work the employee performs.

Sometimes it can keep motivated employees are not only the money they receive salaries or even bonuses they receive every time they do something good, sometimes they are also looking for a place where they can have flexible schedules because they have other things to do. For example, if the employees have children, they want to spend more time with them instead of being all day at work. The flexible sheets that the companies have to offer more or less hours to the employee. They can also divide a position and responsibility with two or more persons, or even telecommute. Today, several companies offer several ways for their employees to spend more time with family because they know that for most of the people are sometimes more important than their relatives, their jobs.

Some people work for love, while others work for personal fulfillment. Others like to achieve goals and feel as if they contribute to something larger than themselves, something important. Some people have personal missions that they want to achieve through work. Other really love what they do or the clients they serve. Other people like to fill their time with activity. It does not matter what are their reasons to be at work because if all the things they expect from their job is not to comply they will not achieve their goals, we believe that if leaders are good managers will help employees to succeed in everything they do is that, although why they do not work the same.
