Java programmer Job

Java - Developer 

Location: India - Mumbai 
Education: Bachelors Degree  



The individuals responsibilities will be comprised of, but not limited to, the following:
? Responsible for the development, maintenance and support of multiple distributed applications.
? Leading and managing development and support activities across several external vendor products/organizations.
? Ensuring 24x7 availability and scalability of the solutions
? Coordinating with Onshore/Offshore development and support teams.
? Interacting with culturally and technically diverse community which includes mainframe and web developers, engineering teams, user communities, and executive management
? Interpreting business requirements, functional specifications, and visual system designs
? Analyzing existing designs and interfaces and creating design extensions or enhancements
? Creating multi-tier designs and interface architectures
? Designing and enhancing UIs with a focus on client usability
? Writing functional specifications & design documents
? Developing software solutions across multi-tier environments
? Testing software designs and solutions (including debugging and troubleshooting) and preparing environment migration documentation
? Providing periodic updates on project or task status



TECHNICAL SKILLS:
 
Candidate for this technical role should have 3+ years of industry programming experience, including the following:
- proven, hands-on design and architecture experience in Web development.
- Experience with web services (i.e. SOAP, XML-RPC, etc.).
- Experience with Core Java, J2EE, IBM Websphere 7, Rational Application Developer, EJB, JMS, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, IBM DB2
- Experience with XML and XSL.
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, AJAX
- Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL 2000, 2005)
- Experience with Source Control Tools (i.e. Clear Case, Synergy)
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and common design patterns.
- Knowledge of SDLC processes
- Ability to read and write UML diagrams

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS:

 
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Production support experience with system maintenance, issue management resolution, and code deployments
? Problem-solving skills.
? Ability to quickly understand and analyze data.
? Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize tasks.
? Candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and organized.
? Ability to set an example for team members by demonstrating preparedness, a strong work ethic, positive attitude and respect for others, as well as maintaining focus on client delivery.
