Everywhere one looks new skyscrapers going up and has been in several years. Shanghai is a city in motion. On your trip to China be sure and visit Shanghai. This is the center and principal place of China's new economy. It is the largest cargo port in the world. It is a city with more than 18 million people and competes with Hong Kong as the country's financial capital. Chinese Mandarin is the language that businesses use to communicate.

1. Oriental Pearl TV Tower

The tower is over 1535 meters high and is one of the highest towers in the whole Asia. You can climb the tower for a beautiful panoramic view over the city.

2. Shanghai Links Golf & Country Club

A golfer joy! This is a very luxurious 18 hole golf club designed by Jack Nicklaus and not far from downtown. There are tennis courts, swimming pool, lake, gym and a children's playground.

3. Yu Gardens

The gardens were built in the Ming Dynasty and is over 400 years old. This is a national heritage site representing a southern Chinese style garden.

4. Huangpu River Cruise

A boat trip along the river you can see many of Shanghai's famous sites, the skyline silhouettes of Pu Dong business district. In the distance you will see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

This museum displays Shanghai's urban planners plans for this great city. It shows how planners imagine Shanghai will look in a few decades. Adults will enjoy this exhibition, children can not.

6. Shanghai Museum

Shanghai Museum houses over 120,000 Chinese art and archaeological finds. It has bronze, ceramics, paintings and other artefacts.

7. Nan Jing Road

Nan Jing Road is one of the major commercial streets in Shanghai and go for a little under 3.5 miles. There are more than 600 shops and shopping centers bearing top brands. The eastern part is walking alone.

8. Huai Hai Road

With over 400 shops, restaurants and businesses, this is where trendy people go. With the French architecture has a very cosmopolitan charm.

9. People's Square (Renmin Guang Chang)

Surrounded by public buildings, this space is really a beautiful urban park with green ones. There is an impressive fountain, subway station and underground shopping. This is a great place to just watch people for a while.

10. The Shanghai Art Museum

There are five floors of twelve exhibit halls. They show the traditional art and modern art. There are also art and design lessons you can take.
