Keeping Your Credit Clean

Keeping your credit clean is a matter of due diligence, and you should make it a priority to give yourself a credit medical examination "every year, just as you would make it a priority to get a doctor or dentist medical examination.

Even if you do not think you have credit problems, you should get copies of your credit report. You can get them from TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. Check these to make sure everything on there is correct. If you find errors on your credit report, clear this up immediately.

If you apply for a credit card or a loan, so you can get all 3 credit reports for free. Also, if you receive a letter denying you credit, make a copy of it and enclose it with your written request for a copy of your credit report.

Most debts that are over 7 years old may not show on your credit report to make, if so, do not open up old wounds by going on the lookout for them! Many creditors after 7 years of having no contact will cancel the debt. In some cases, they will continue their efforts to find you, either way, do not open Pandora's box if the debt is not listed on your credit report.

Be aware that when you apply for a loan or any credit, lenders will request copies of your credit report, this will add points to your credit score, and this study will be on your report for about 3 years.

Today, almost everyone will check your credit report, so if you buy a car, do not allow the sales person to check your credit until you know it is what you want.

Keep track of your credit report regularly, and if you notice charges on your report, which appears suspicious contact the three credit bureaus immediately.

Once you have credit card bills or loans, try to pay them off in full, but if you do not have money to pay the bill in full, be sure to pay as much as you can (at least the minimum on the bill to avoid bad credit reports. even if you have debts that have not yet gone to collection, find a solution to get these bills up to date before you get a bad mark on your credit.

If you have problems with your credit card, you can find someone you trust who can help guide you through the process of repairing your credit. If you do not know someone personally, you can try to find a debt counselor who is qualified to help you.

Whether you erase your debt yourself, or need professional help, a good way to get started is with budgeting.

Come up with a budget that includes your monthly repayments. Then make a new budget, which comes as close to your debt as you can. Finally, a budget that meets your requirements for survival, after you've cut funding.

If you come up with ways to save money by cutting down, finding a way to earn more money and have a budget, so you will have a strategy guaranteed to get you out of debt. Plus, when you're out of debt, you will also notice an increase in your income.
