B.Ed colleges functioning under state univ its cancel

National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has finally decided to cancel the affiliation of B Ed colleges run by universities in the states. The decision has been taken in this context by the NCTE. It says that state universities are unable to provide necessary infrastructure, faculty strength and other amenities as per norms. In the NCTE southern regional committee meeting held in Bangalore, it was decided that the committee would also initiate action against those who failed to honour the norms prepared by them. NCTE is likely to withdraw the affiliation of Calicut University Teacher Education Centres at Ollur in Thrissur district, Poomala and Kaniyambetta in Wayanad district, Vatakara, Manjeri, Malappuram and Palakkad and two centres at Kozhikode. Moreover, it has also decided to conduct an inspection at the Calicut University Teacher Education Centre, Thrissur, after it is shifted to the new premises. All the Teacher Education Centres, under Kerala University, are allotted a time period of 15 days to submit their replies. NCTE also decided to take necessary action against these centres, including withdrawal of recognition, if they fail to give convincing replies. Further, the committee has decided to suspend the admissions for next academic session under Section 17 of NCTE Act in the colleges. The NCTE also decided to issue show-cause notice to University Teacher Education Centres of Kannur University situated at Wayanad,Kannur and Kasaragod.
