Sports Information Student Assistant Assist Director and Assistant Director of Sports Information with the promotion of the University’s 15 NCAA Division II men’s and women’s sports.
Responsibilities : Maintaining statistics and assisting in media management at athletic events. General office work including filing, collating, stuffing envelopes, answering phones, faxing and copying. Availability includes some weekends and week nights.Requirements : Candidates should have basic statistical knowledge of several sports (basketball, lacrosse, football, soccer, field hockey, volleyball and baseball/softball). Sound organizational and communication skills and passion for C.W. Post athletics are a must.
What the Candidate Will Receive: The opportunity to work closely with C.W. Post’s 15 men’s and women’s athletic teams. Improving writing and desktop publishing skills with InDesign CS2, Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop CS2, as well as statistical skills through The Automated Scorebook. Serving as media liaison to news outlets (Newsday, News12, WLNY, Associated Press) and WCWP, C.W. Post’s campus radio station.
