PC School math

EVEN AS the Pueblo City Schools Board of Education has launched a search for a new superintendent, it’s good to see the district and District 70 talking about ways of sharing services and saving money.PCS Superintendent John Covington is resigning to take the helm at the Kansas City, Mo., district. The board has appointed an interim, Kathy West. However, even as the city board knew of Dr. Covington’s impending departure, they and top staffers met with their counterparts in District 70 recently to discuss areas where they might share services. District 70 Superintendent Dan Lere proposed several ideas where he said the two systems could share and save.Among those was the concept that certain administrators could be shared by both systems. To get the creative juices moving, he suggested, “We could look at the possibility of creating a joint administrative team to lead the two school districts, and that team could work on the combining of services.”
