Hill was the guest speaker for Midwestern State University’s third annual “Welcome Back Dinner” at the Clark Student Center and also had a private talk with the team preceding the dinner. The former NFL Rookie of the Year and the Cowboys’ first 1,000-yard rusher also stressed to them the importance of thinking about their actions and the consequences of those actions. Hill’s father bought a set of encyclopedias for him when he was young and told him “to read them and they had everything I would need to know. “He didn’t realize they would come out with a new set the next year, and another the year after that. But he saw it as something that would be important for me to know.
