Purnell Museum is seeking entries for the long-running annual Delmarva Needle Art Show & Competition. All types of fiber art, including quilts, embroidery, counted cross-stitch, knits, and crochet and more will be displayed. All styles, from traditional to uniquely contemporary are welcome. Entries are due by Aug. 22. The yearly event presents an opportunity for regional artists to display their work, and enriches the museum experience for visitors by offering the chance to see the works of so many different artists in one location--and to cast a ballot for their favorite works. The competition will be judged by viewers' choice, in which museum visitors will vote for their favorite piece in several categories. The ribbons will be awarded on Oct. 27. The Delmarva Needle Art Show and Competition will be on display at the Julia A. Purnell Museum from Sept. 1 through Oct. 31 during regular museum hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Viewer's choice voting will take place through Oct. 27. This exhibit is included in the regular museum admission of $2 for adults and $.50 for children.
