Some people want to date just for the fun of it. If you are looking for variety, so you might not want to date a person of the same nationality. There are those who want to date someone of the same age, while there are those who want to date older men and older women.

For some people, they do not want to date a total stranger - meaning that they prefer a person who is a friend of a friend, a cousin of a classmate, or someone you have a common connection with. In this case, you have the opportunity to ask questions about your prospective date, get dating tips from your mutual friend, and you are sure that when something goes wrong, the other person does not disappear just because your friend knows where he or she lives.

Whatever your desires are, it is best to be prepared. Get more information about your prospective date, research, and let him or her know your interests as well. Seeking dating advice from someone you can trust, and when you finally meet your date, be yourself, and see if he or she can accept you as you are.
